The Aromas, Sounds and Gift Ideas for a Wonderful Holiday Morning

A Warm and Cozy House In The Winter

101 West $th Street, Oil City, Pa.  This is where my huband grew up at.

The Silence In The Early Morning
You are the first to open your eyes and you take in the sounds of silence that permeates the air. You get out of your comfy nest and put on your feet down on the warmth of your soft, plush carpet. You slip your feet into your warm and fluffy slippers. That nice soft and warm bathrobe is calling out for you to put on before you slip out the bedroom door to start your day.  If you have a fireplace you most certianly want to start a fire there before you start your day full of family, fun and friends.

The Fireplace That we all used to gather around.

First Things First
As you enter the kitchen your mind fills with all the kinds of goodies you are going to be making for breakfast. First things first though your have to start the coffee brewing. You want to be the first one to get the first cup to wake you up. As you fill your Krups combination expresso cappuccino, latte machine and coffee maker, the aroma of fresh brewed coffee starts filling the room with o most wonderful eye opening aroma. You have the first cup and go sit in the big comfy soft chair and enjoy your coffee in silence before everyone else wakes up. You are so glad that your coffee maker is a ten cup one and is enough to feed your family and are also glad that the expresso part will fill 4 cups of the elixir of cappuccino for those who also like that instead of the coffee.

Mary Allen, My Mother-In-Law cooking in the kitchen.

Some Nice Music

As the rich and inviting aroma of coffee lingers through the air and reaches the far corners of the bedrooms. It wakes the sleepy heads out of bed and brings then to the kitchen for the hearty breakfast. Each one is also in their bathrobe and slippers. One by one they come into the warm and sweet smells that drift throughout the kitchen and into the rest of the house. Somewhere in between you fixing the coffee and your family arriving in the kitchen you put a CD of holiday music in your Sony Under-cabinet CD clock radio playing in the background. It has 15 presets, auto set clock and a cooking timer, and a holder so you can connect and listen to digital music. What a perfect Holiday morning.

The Smell of Food Wakes Everyone Up
Mom has pancakes on the electric griddle. The crackling of frying bacon on her new Lodge cast iron reversible grill/griddle is music to your ears and makes your tummy grumble more for the breakfast you are about to eat. Oh the smell of bacon frying wakes anybody up. The smell of the pancakes coupled with that of the sausage and bacon makes you anticipate the filling of your tummy.

Banana, Walnut and Raisin Bread Recipe
Along with these things there is a huge plate full of different kinds of breads. One of my favorites is on the plate. It is a very simple recipe. It is Banana, Walnut, and Raisin Bread. For the recipe you need three really ripe bananas, 2 eggs and a box of yellow cake mix. That is all there is.
Now you preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
While it is getting hot you dump in the mashed bananas, yellow cake mix and eggs and mix with your brand new KitchenAid mixer for about 2 minutes.
Then you add the chopped walnuts and the raisins and stir them in.
Spray the pan with some cooking oil spray and pour the cake mix in the pan.
You can use any size or shape of pan that you want including a loaf pan.
Cook by the directions on the cake mix box.
Cool for about 10 minutes and then flip over onto a platter.

This bread can be frozen too.

Cookies and Cakes!
After Mom cleans up the kitchen she gets out all the baking sheets to start making cookies. This year she is trying out her new Wilton Cookie Master Plus Cookie Press. The set Includes 12 metal disks in classic and seasonal shapes, 4 accent tips for decorating and filling, 2 recipe booklets, a unique dough guard. She wants to start baking new cookies this year and is eager to make some appetizers and other snack things. She is also thinking about cake decorating too.

Watching Movies
Everyone is finishing up their breakfasts and is starting to move towards the living room to watch a good movie or two.   What more could anyone want?

While they are doing that Mom is finishing up the dishes, has her final cup of coffee and joins the rest of her family in the living room. Everybody is talking, laughing and having a grand time. Someone mentions a game of football in the back yard. Dad said that it will be later in the afternoon but first he wants to sit and let his big breakfast settle and watch some more Hoiliday movies.

The Truth About Welfare Recipients

My Personal Experience of Being on Welfare.

There has been lots of media about those who are on the present day welfare system and it isn’t good.  With anything dealing with many people and the views and culture for each one you will have good and bad things come out of it.  People are getting on the bandwagon to denigrate people who have no choice in using such a fine system.  To those who shun others or spread that all those who are on welfare are drug addicts or an alcoholic that is simply untrue.  They haven’t a clue.  There is something really wrong with that.  It puts a negative light on that and causes more shame and guilt for those who might have to use that system at some point in their lives.  Most do not or haven’t ever entertained the thought of asking for help like that.  Most people are brought up to do for themselves and are expected to do so at all times in their lives.  Many of us don’t go looking to do that.

I, for one, would be homeless and on the streets if it weren’t for my parent’s and that Welfare System many years ago.  Never in my wildest thought did I think I would end up there.  I am thankful for all those who pay taxes to help subsidize this program.  I was not and have never been a drug addict, an alcoholic or anyone who uses others for my needs.  Needs, not wants.  There is a big difference in that.  Everyone needs certain things to live in this world.  The main ones are Shelter and Food. I was about to find out what these two were up close and personal many years ago.

Just like everyone else I had a great family and needed nothing.  That wasn’t to last as troubles came into our relationship and I kind of saw the ending but tried as I might I never thought that I would have to9 even ask for a place to live or go about getting food for my very needs.  Oh I had a job after the split and had a semi-reliable place to live but it wasn’t want was supposed to happen when I got told that I would need to find a place to live in 2 weeks’ time.

Homelessness loomed over me like a big black cloud.  I never thought that I would be in this position.  I had a job there, but I didn’t know many people and didn’t want to ask them for my room and board.  I didn’t know anyone that well.  It was a very scary time in my life and never ever dreamed that this would happen to me.  It was surreal and I just wanted to wake up form this horrible nightmare.  My parents took their vacation home off the market so that I would have a place to live.  They didn’t charge me rent, but I had to pay for my own utilities and food and other needed things.  I was doing well until I had a medical problem that forced me into the hospital for 2 units of blood and my supervisor thought that I didn’t want to work at all.  We had a conference call one day and there was a lawyer as the third party.  This supervisor hung up on both of us and the case was dropped.  Oh I let the supervisor know about my health problems and how I had to take care of them.  He was not a people person.  So that threw me more into a scarier place when I found that I also did not have a job.  I had no idea how I was going to survive without a job and no social security.  I didn’t qualify for that anyway.  There I sat in my parent’s vacation home.  My youngest daughter came to live with me but I wanted to support her and me and get a life.  I didn’t want to depend on anyone else for my livelihood.  I didn’t want to go to the Welfare Department.  That was furthest from my mind.  I surely would get a job, but knew no one around this new place.

I did suck up my pride and went to Welfare and at least I did get some medical assistance for my daughter.  My ex was giving me money for her and found out that they told me that I made $1.00 (yep exactly and no kidding) more and did not qualify for anything more.  It was a sticky problem and that is behind me now.  Through the Department of Health and Human Resources I found a good program and it is connected with the Welfare System.  Without that I would have been homeless.  I was and still am a good person.  It was very difficult for me to go to the Welfare program because of all the negative propaganda that people put out about things they have no idea about.  I wish they would stop.

There was a program called Displaced Homemaker and it was also connected with the Welfare programs.  That was a godsend.  Let me tell you how many amazing women were in that program when I came to be in it too.  Not one of them were alcoholics, drug users or looked like that.  They were all brought together much in the same way as my situation took me.  On this program I had a few programs that I could have gone through.  If it weren’t that I need a job so bad I would have taken the 4 year college route.  Being as that I had to get a job ASAP I went through a secretarial program that lasted 18 months.  I put all my effort into graduating from that.  It was very hard with finally getting ajob and a car that broke down every week and raising a daughter on my own.  I did it though and I ended up on the Dean’s List.   Not one of us out of about 100 women mis-used the Welfare System and I can’t remember anyone who went through Welfare when I did that mis-used the program either.

Find out what the NEW elegiblility Requirement are to get Welfare here: State Funding Requirement Under The NEW Welfare Law  This is the whole and each state has slightly different requirements.

For households in the 48 Contiguous States and the District of Columbia October 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. To get SNAP benefits, households must meet certain tests, including resource and income tests:
  • Households may have $2,250 in countable resources, such as a bank account, or $3,250 in countable resources if at least one person is age 60 or older, or is disabled.  However, certain resources are NOT counted, such as a home and lot, the resources of people who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI)…..
  • Most households must meet both the gross and net income tests, but a household with an elderly person or a person who is receiving certain types of disability payments only has to meet the net income test…….
  • The amount of benefits the household gets is called an allotment. The net monthly income of the household is multiplied by .3, and the result is subtracted from the maximum allotment for the household size to find the household's allotment. This is because SNAP households are expected to spend about 30 percent of their resources on food……
  • With some exceptions, able-bodied adults between 16 and 60 must register for work, accept suitable employment, and take part in an employment and training program to which they are referred by the local office. Failure to comply with these requirements can result in disqualification from the Program…..

If you want to learn about Immigration and the qualifications of such they are also on the link above.

Before you spread propaganda about things which you have not experienced or learned of yourself just pass it by and not spread the lies.  You don’t know what you are doing and how it hurts those who need this program.  If you see or know of someone that may be on the Welfare System, instead of degrading them, ask them how you could help.  It may be as simple as sitting down and listening or a free lunch or support searching.  There is a saying about giving fish but the greater is teaching how to fish for themselves.  This economy is so bad these days that these situations are becoming more the norm than not.  What can you do to help spread love instead of shame and guilt?  Turn it around.  It begins with you.

Fall Football, Apples, Pumpkins and Halloween

Fall is around the corner and I can tell by the leaves are a changing their colors and falling from the trees.  Oh it is only August here, but when it gets this dry that is what the leaves will do.  Fall or Autumn brings up brightly colored landscapes, rustling of leaves and cooler temperatures. There is something about Fall that no other season brings. Open your door on your way out and a breath of fresh cool fresh air hits you in the face. It does wake you up.  The stifling hot air of summer has now gone away. It is hard to miss the brightly colored leave on the trees.  They are so pretty of oranges, brown, some greens and bright yellows.  They are also going to be gone away in just a few short months when winter comes around. Squirrels scurry around gathering seeds and nuts to store for the winter.  Some raccoons and opossums gorge themselves before they take their winter’s nap.  Birds that migrate start heading to south where there is still warm temperatures.

Tis the season for some football! There are games being played in schools, colleges and in cities where the major and minor leagues play and you can see them all.  We switch from light and airy clothes of summer to light jackets and leggings in the Autumn.  Blankets with team motifs are brought out of storage and put on the furniture.

Along with the football enthusiasts there are pumpkins and apples and a variety of squash that are being harvested.  Children are having a blast in the pumpkin fields and moms are making lots of apple pies.  Some are baking and canning and getting ready for the much colder months.  The aromas fill the room and the houses and float on the air.  Neighbors get a whiff of your baked goods when the door or the kitchen window is opened and the aroma sneaks out.  Can’t you just see mom and granny sitting in the kitchen chatting and drinking hot apple cider while they are making and baking for a bake sale?  Yum, Yum.

There is food and drink aplenty that comes only at this time of the year. Here is a song that will bring back lots of memories. The words are here so you can sing it too.

The prettiest girl

I ever saw

Was sippin' cider
Through a straw
The prettiest girl I ever saw
Was sippin' cider through a straw
I asked her if
She'd teach me how
To sip some cider
Through a straw
I asked her if she'd reach me how
To sip some cider through a straw
First cheek to cheek
Then jaw to jaw
We sipped that cider
Through a straw
First cheek to cheek, then jaw to jaw
We sipped that cider through a straw
And now and then
That straw did slip
And we'd sip cider
Lip to lip
And now and then that straw did slip
And we'd sip cider lip to lip
And now I've got
A mother-in-law
And nineteen kids
That call me "Paw"
And now I've got a mother-in-law
And nineteen kids that call me "Paw"
The moral of
This little tale
Is sip your cider
Through a pail
The moral of this little tale
Is sip your cider through a pail

·        Make Your Own Hard Cider
Making delicious hard cider is fun and simple, and if you press your own sweet non-alcoholic cider, you’ll have the perfect starting place to brew your own intoxicating hard cider.

Halloween is not an evil dark celebration in the fall.  It is not about how evil comes out through many different things that Christianity tells us to believe that it does.
Pagan, the word conjures up many evil things in a Christians mind.  They have been led to believe evil comes out at Halloween.  Is that a rue statement to some?  Yes they believe so.  But is it true?
What is true though is that Pagan’s were country-folk and that Christianity  stole all their celebrations and traditions, made them their won , twisted them to make their people believe that they are evil.
Dressing up as evil spirits was not to bring them out, but to scare them off.

So when you are teaching your young children about Halloween teach them the truth and let them wear scary costumes to scare those scary beings away.  Think about it!  If monster costumes scare monsters away, what do you think angels would scare area?

Three Disturbing Dreams I Had

I have had three disturbing dreams the last two weeks.

The first one:  I was smelling some smoke like there was something burning outside of my house.  I go out and get to the end of the ramp in front of my house and look to the left and I do see smoke coming from the side of my house.  I walk across my driveway about halfway.  I look straight over and there is a Tyrannosaurus Rex running up the hill coming right at me.  I look to the road in front of my house and there is a vehicle shaped like a black cat with a couple of people in it and they are going down the road that leads to the other side of the ravine to their house.  I was scared in that dream  When I awoke I was breathing really hard, like I was scared.

The next night I had that same exact dream.  The difference was that when I saw the T-Rex coming up the hill and running towards me, I said to myself, in that dream, that this is just a dream and I woke myself up.

The next dream was that mys husband and I and Duke were in this park and we were watching Duke run and play and he kept coming back to us and running out to a pole.  We were happy and Duke was happy and we all were happy just watching Duke have a grand time running around.

The last dream that I remember, I was carving a circle in a tree.  I was used a short drill bit to make this circle on the tree.  My husband was with me and we were talking about all the fun times and things that we did together when we first met.  While we were talking I was having trouble making a circle on the tree and that I was making a half of a heart shape instead.  I could not get that drill to do what I wanted it to do.  I mentioned that to my husband and then the dream ended.

I just had to write these done.

What are your thoughts on any of these?

If you were given a planet such as ours and you had to put all kinds of life on it. On this planet you had a specific amount of room for each group of life.
How would you keep the populations down to that certain level?

NO Religion in this please.

I used to play a computer text game in the early to mid 90's that was called Kingdom. In the game you had to grow food for a certain amount of people, You were never given the number of the amount of people that you had to keep.  You had to harvest it. The game had things like Rats that would eat your stores and new people would come to your kingdom and some would leave.

It was a game of thinking and of stragedy more than anything else.
I played that for months and still never got it to be perfect or even close to perfect.

I often killed all the people in my kingdom.

So how would you make yor world keep your life manageable.

Would you need to kill off something or make one go extinct so that you could make a better species or lofe form?

Would you grow more food for all or would you make a desaster strike so that it would keep the populations in check?

Would you use disease to hold down a polulation?

Infant antibiotic use linked to adult diseases -- ScienceDaily

Pay close attention to this news all you parent or soon to be parents.

A new study has found a three-way link among antibiotic use in infants, changes in the gut bacteria, and disease later in life.

Just a Quote For Today It is National Arbor Day Today!
Today is Natioal Arbor Day.  I thought this quote was fitting for today.

Quote for today:

"Forest Revival: Koa is the king of Hawaii's endemic forests, the only places it grows. Reaching up to a hundred feet tall, these flowering trees once provided wood for native Islander's canoes and surfboards. But more than two centuries of logging and clearing the land for grazing have reduced Koa forests to about 215,000 acres, perhaps half their original expanse."

"To reverse this decline, private landowners and state and federal governments have planted hundreds of thousands of trees over the past 35 years. The new Koa forests attract birds, insects, and plants and improve watersheds, which helps humans too.

Writing as Art

Do you think handwriting is a lost form?  With the inception of the internet most people are thinking that writing is on the way out.  That simply is not true.
In the early years of your education you learn to write in cursive.  It is an artistic form of writing and you used it in every day writing since then.  Now some people are saying that they do not need to teach that anymore and the block writing that is more often than not easier to read.  It has started as simplly in your education all the way up to what beuty writing can be as Caligraphy.

I do not think that it will ever go out of style to write in cursive.  There ae many ways that you use it as writing your signature.  Thought there is the new internet and that many things can be used to give your credence to things you will always use your signature and also print out your name in various places.  Some of those that demand your written signature and also your printed name are on loans.  Have you recently bought a new car?  Did you have to sigh and print your name on about 12 pages of papers to get that car?  How about when you go to the grocery store and that you use your credit or debit card, you also had to sing your name on the credit card receipt.  When you got a mortgage, you also had to put your signature and print your names on that as well.  Notary Publics sign their names to all kinds of legal documents as well.  I do not think that teaching cursive writing is ever going to go out of style or use.

Writing has been a form of art form thousands of years.  Writing is big business.  Just take a look at what kinds of things they sell in all kinds of stores from Dollar Stores to Grocery stores and Office supply stores.  You can buy stationery sets, drawing tablets, paper, pens rulers, colored pens, colored pencils, pens that have smells of good things.  What do you think of when you smell blueberries or strawberries?  How about the smell of apple pie?  Doesn’t that get your memories going and your creativity started?
Papermate and Bic are huge makers and suppliers of colored ink pens. All the colors of the rainbow are at your fingertips.  Use your imagination or get it all going by using colored ink in your correspondence and other things that you write.

Apple Tarts, Debra Allen
Mr. Sketcher is a company that sells scented markers.  Imagine smelling an orange and drawing a picture of an orange grove.  How about the smell of the blueberry and moments later you have drawn a blueberry pie.  Your canvas can be of white drawing paper to colored paper and imagine writing a letter to your love or children with these and share your imagination and foster their imaginations when they open their stationery that you hand-picked for them.  Another company sells pens that smell like Lavender, Pina Colada and coffee.  How’s that to wake you up in the morning?  Did you know that a simple aroma can bring memories to you that you once though lost?  Yes, indeed.  Science has found that the sense of smell can trigger memories of all kinds to the individual.  Color can too and is used to manipulate emotions of all kinds.

Don’t you just want to go write or doodle right now?  Go ahead and use your cursive and imagination to sign, write and draw your life.

Happy Easter Everyone!

I hope that you are having a very nice Easter with friends and family.  Today I took pictures of some of the plants, trees and flowers that I have growing in my yard and gardens.
Daffodils almost ready!

Lilac leave are popping and will be unfulred in about a week or so!
I do hope that we get flowers this year.  I love the smell or Lilacs.

Daffodils up close.

Hyacinths poking up out of the ground.
Get up sleepy heads!

The Ivy is really starting to take off.

Another picture of the ivy that I have planted in the old iron tub.
It is up against the front of the house.
We used an old daybed frame for the trellis.

The holly that we planted a few years ago is getting bigger year by year.

My White Hellebore

We also started on the raised gardens.  Thought we do not plant things until after my birthday, I want to get the preperations done before that.  Today was a very nice day for that kind of work.  It is suppsed to be soggy come Tuesday all the way to Friday.  Getting the first projects underway is a good thing becasue you never know what is going to be happening at any given time that will change your plans.

I wrote my first entrance into my Garden Journal on my Gardening blog.  There I have all the pictures of what we did today.

This is what they looked like 2 years ago.
The will have different plants in thiem this year.

We will be setting in the post on the Bird feeder.  We have it moved, we just have to dig the hole deeper and level it out.  We have a problem with digging the hole deeper as my husband said that he hit rock.  So that will be finished another day, when we figure out how to get the hole deeper.

I just love playing in the dirt and planting things!  It is a very good stress reliever and I love watching things grow.

How about you?

Spring Has Sprung In Our Neck Of The Woods

I have to tell you that it is beautiful here in my neck of the woods.  I went out to feed my outdoor cats and heard so many Robins singing their little hearts out.  It is too bad that I could not get pictures of them. I could not see them.  They were still in the trees.  Oh it is still mostly grey and browns out there, but I saw some little leaves on my Knock Out roses peeking out from the stems.  I thought the deer ate them when they came through here the other day.

Our lilac bush is just about to open its leaves.  I do not know if we will get flowers on it this year or not.  Some years we do and some we don’t.  I have no idea why they do or why they don’t.

Tomorrow we will be transplanting our Heleborus back to where it was last year.  It just does not like its toes pinched in the raised garden we had it in.  It is also getting bud and getting ready to show its pretty flowers.  We will be transplanting the Tall Phlox into that raised garden. They don’t have really deep roots and I do believe that it will spread and fill that box by the end of summer.

We do have to do some maintenance on our gardens as you can see.  It is an every spring event.  The ground rises as it hardens in the winter and then lowers when it is spring.  Along with that we have many animals that like to disturb the boards when they walk on top of them or around then.  I have even seen the cats lay right up against them.  I have seen the deer walk all over them and pull them up when they move their hooves over them.  No deer today!

This is the time of year that we really get busy outside.  It is nice and warm and we do lots of prep-work for the vegetables and flowers that we are going to be planting come the end of April.  Rototilling will also be included in those jobs.  Everything may still be a bit dreary and grey, but there are flowers and trees showing day by day.

I told my husband and everyone else too that I will not be planting vegetables this year.  It is so hard to keep up with the bugs around here and there seems to be a new variety each year.  Alas, it looks like I will be planting some anyway as I could not afford to get many of the bulbs that I would have loved to get for the summer.  I wanted to plant them instead, but I do not like the looks of empty raised beds.

Here are some of the ways that we have tried to keep those pesky bugs off our plants.  I called them Conestoga Wagons, because that is what they look like.  I might have to do that again.  They only problem is that I cannot have those nets over them when they start growing too tall.  I must say though that I do like picking fresh produce from my garden in the summer.

Are you ready for Spring?  What kinds of things do you do?

The Plight of Air Travel Today

Plane trip on the way to Denver, Colorado.

I was watching the news about the German Aircraft pilot that murdered himself and all those aboard the airplane. It is so sad to learn this. It is even sadder that all those people that were on that plane were screaming for their lives and could do nothing about it. What is even sadder is that the pilot took it upon himself, in a terrible state of mind, to kill everyone. He thought of nobody else's life. He himself was having some sort of mental disturbance or life experience that the only answer that he could come up with was to plan to kill himself and others on that plane.  It was premeditated!

Now there is a flurry of incidences like this that the pilot planned to kill others and themselves by crashing the plane to end their suffering.  They don't know how they have affected others and brought about mass suffering because of their single act.

They are now discussing how the pilots are trained and screen for all kinds of mental disturbance, flight hours, experience and the like.  They are sort of making a mountain of a mole hill.  Oh, do not get me wrong there is something really wrong with our society and the youth of today.  I have noticed many people between the ages of 22 and 35 doing strange things and having so much anger and destructive behaviours.  I can see this on the news, and on the Internet and in other media.  I do not understand why others do not see it too.  What is happening to the brains in this age group.  Do not tell me that they have a hard life because that is a cop out.  There is something really wrong here and it is not normal. Near the bottom of this article there is a list of the pilots that had crashed planes intentionally.  The ages of them are also listed.  Check it out: DailyMail Germanwings Plane Crash

Now for the simple solution for the pilots on planes.  It is so simple and would solve all the problems of being locked-out of the cockpit.  All the fluff about mental states and life situations and depression and all that is covering something up.

Why have they not thought of or had it in place from the beginning that all pilots on the plane have a key or key code to the cockpit?  This would prevent someone being locked-out of the cockpit.  It would also insure that anyone who got sick or other mental state that someone could get to them in case of such an emergency.  It is so simple and so cheap and it behoves me to know why they don't have this in place already.

Who and Where Do Those Studies Come From and What is The Sales Pitch

I posted this some time ago on Bubblews and wanted to bring this up again because of some other reports that I have found very misleading.  Many people actually believe whatever is on the internet, on the television and elsewhere without even researching it themselves.  Here is the article that I wrote and will be adding other things to it.

I just had a conversation about that Face Book study from Michigan University that says that those who use Face Book are sadder and less satisfied.  I don’t think that is entirely true nor did they do a big enough study.  Not enough people to qualify that study to be true.

I think it is all propaganda.  What was their motive for taking such a study in the first place and why would they say such a broad statement about something they must be being paid for.  I mean look at all the studies out there that have been proven wrong and there is a Sales Pitch behind the study.

I hate watching TV anymore because you are not watching the shows.  What you are watching is a plethora of commercials.  My husband come home from work and asks me what I am watching and I say Commercials.  Seriously you are watching 10 minutes of the show and 20 minutes of commercials and they constantly repeat the same ones over and over again.

Now with Face Book supposedly making us sadder or not satisfied:  Well I would rather be on Face Book than watching the millions of commercials on the TV.  Commercials just make me angry.  Face Book does not.  I have friends and family on there that I can strike up a conversation with.  You can be happy and satisfied with that.

The studies about the McDonald's being the cause of obesity is all false.  I did lots of research in this and came to find out the study was not performed very well.

I found that they took a control group of about 60-80 people who had or had not had any cholesterol problems.  They put these people on a diet of McDonald's hamburgers for 6 weeks.  They were only to eat that for that amount of time.  Of Course one will get sick if that is all they ate every day for 6 weeks.  Who instigated that study in the first place?  What was their purpose?  Why only McDonald's because other fast food places cook their burgers and get them from the top 6 meat packaging plants as McDonald's?  Someone has it out for them and people are believing all the HYPE versus going and doing an UN-biased research on the findings.

Another example is the pharmaceutical commercials and then the wrongful death from them.  It is so funny to watch how they do these things.  One commercial tells you that brushing your teeth with their brand will help fill in the gaps and holes of your teeth that are missing the enamel.  Then you have another commercial stating that your enamel will never grow back.
Oh and let us not forget how many years that we have been eating oranges and other citrus foods and those which are destroying our enamel and making us have cavities.  I don't believe their claims one bit.  It's not like we only just now started eating those foods.

So who is behind those kinds of studies anyway?  What is their Sales Pitch?

Do your own homework and don't just look on the first page of google.  Go deeper than that and do your studies in an un-biased way.

Petition to Repeal OBAMAS Mandatory Health Insurance

If you are stuck, like I am, and do not need nor want this please sign the petition.  I think it is one big scam!
Why do I think it is a big Scam you may ask.

Just do the math.
Monthly premiums cost about $180.00 per MONTH for one that is covered from your work (my husband's work).

Many have a low (ha!) deductible of $1,500.00 and that is how much you have to pay for ONE year alone.  It cannot be rolled over or saved up.

Some procedures are not covered.  My husband needs a procedure for preventative measures and could not get it because it was within that $1,500.00 deductible.  We could not afford that.

Alternative medicine is still not covered in the Health Insurance plans and neither are alternative drugs.

Many do not need those or do not get sick often enough to even really need insurance and you can never get that money that you shell out back.  It is better to have a saving account for your medical needs.

I don't play the "What if" game.  I have not had insurance for years and I have had expensive procedure and paid for them out of my own pocket.  IF I get really sick, well I will deal with it when and IF I ever get there.

NEW!  Many Hospitals and Doctor's offer a payment plan when you don't have Health Insuranc or enough money to pay for their services.
Many of those subsidies that were in OBAMA's plan have quit, leaving the higher subsidies in the program, hence making more money.

They don't consider what you can afford.  They go by the breadwinners salary.  My husband makes about $45.000.00 per year and they want me to pay $500.00 per month....on top of what my husband pays for his health Insurance and add the $1,00.00 deductible with that.  Mind you that is the OBAMACARE Health Insurance at The MarketPlace.

The Government doesn't want you to take control of your own health.  They want you to pump all their chemicals in your body.  Take account and look at your own health.  Their health plans require you to keep going back to the doctors and they keep you on drugs.  It starts with one and then another is added and some even take up to 20 different drugs a day.  That is a SCAM!  They don't care about you.  They care about money and keeping you in their loop.

I signed this petition and I hope that you see how it is a scam and sign the petition too.

I did receive a ltter from my State House of Representative and this is what it said:

Dear Mrs. Allen,

Thank you for taking the time to contact me to voice your concerns about the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. Hearing thoughtful opinions from constituents like you is very important to me.
On February 3, 2015, I voted for H.R. 596, which would repeal Obamacare in its entirety. It passed the United States House of Representatives by a vote of 239-186.
During his term in office, President Obama has routinely and blatantly forced his policies on the American people. One of his most outrageous policies is the Obamacare law. Obamacare has dismantled the forty-hour work week, raised costs, killed jobs, and put the government between patients and their doctors.
President Obama made a number of promises to the American people to get his health care law through Congress, but the impacts of the law have been devastating to American families. The President promised that we could keep our insurance, but 7 million fewer people will have employment-based insurance by 2018 according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
The President promised no new taxes on middle-class families, but Obamacare will result in $770 billion in new taxes, penalties, and fees over a 10-year period. The President even promised that every American would have health care, but despite a projected $1.8 trillion in new spending through 2023, the CBO estimates that 31 million Americans will remain uninsured.
In the 114th session of Congress, I also co-sponsored the Hire More Heroes Act and the Save American Jobs Act. These bills, which passed the House, save jobs and help America’s veterans by repealing key elements of Obamacare.
We must halt Obama’s big-government agenda and pass common-sense reforms so that we can start to restore our freedoms as Americans.  West Virginians deserve healthcare solutions that bring costs down for hardworking families and expand access to quality healthcare.  Our state and the nation need more good jobs, not more Federal government mandates.
Again, I appreciate you taking the time to share your views on the President’s, overreaching healthcare policies. Your communication and feedback is very helpful to me in my role as your U.S. Representative. I look forward to hearing from you as we fight together for our West Virginia values.
